About this spot
The plantation contains large populations of red deer - therefore, in certain periods, it is protected from activities such as orienteering and similar. In the northern end of the plantation, there is a dog forest and a primitive campsite with running water and toilet facilities for free use. Along the old railway line from Nørre Nebel and Nymindegab, there is a covered barbecue hut, which is primarily used by guests who rent railbikes on this railway line. However, the barbecue hut can be used by anyone visiting the area. Through the plantation, you can drive out to Gammelgab beach, where there are several paths over the dunes to the beach. In the area between Gammelgab beach and Nymindegab beach lies a dune area with remnants of the old fjord arm from Ringkøbing Fjord. Here, a scenic area with small lakes emerged, bearing witness to the history of the area’s formation.
