About this spot

In Vesterhavn at Nymindegab are the Esehusene (Ese Houses), one of which is equipped as a toilet, which is generally always open. “Ese” means bait, from which the huts get their name. In the 19th century, the huts were used for preparing fishing nets, storing fishing gear, and as dwellings for the girls who would put “es” (bait) on the fishermen’s lines. The small thatched huts are faithful copies of the originals from the 19th century, as these have been moved to Frilandsmuseet near Copenhagen. Also in the area: Two huts equipped with tables and benches (lunch houses), outdoor table-bench sets, close to Nymindegab beach (swimming spot), shopping and dining facilities in Nymindegab. The location can be found via the following coordinates: (55.8184671, 8.1850830)
