About this spot

In Vesterhavn at Nymindegab, Esehusene are located. Here, several table and bench sets are set up, where it is possible to take a break and perhaps enjoy a packed picnic. “Ese” means bait, from which the huts get their name. In the 1800s, the huts were used for preparing fishing nets, storing fishing gear, and as dwellings for the girls who had to put “ese” (bait) on the fishermen’s lines. The small thatched huts are faithful replicas of the originals from the 1800s, as these have been moved to Frilandsmusset near Copenhagen. In the area you will also find: Two huts furnished with tables and benches (picnic shelters) Toilet Close to Nymindegab beach (swimming spot) Shopping and dining options in Nymindegab The place can be found via the following coordinates: (55.8184671, 8.1850830)
