About this spot

Sløvika Panorama (often referred to as part of the hiking opportunities around Sløvika Camping in Jevnaker) is a great hiking destination for those who want a great view of Randsfjorden without having to walk the very longest and steepest miles. JIF Mosjon opened a trail here named Sløvika runden. Here is a description: Location and View. The destination is located on the ridge above Sløvika, approximately 6 km north of Jevnaker town center. The spot where the picnic bench stands gives you a fantastic overview of the area around Sløvika. Here, an information board has also been set up where you can read a bit of history: Randsfjorden stretching northwards. The undulating cultural landscape of Hadeland. The forested hills on the west side of the fjord. The walk up From Sløvika Camping: This walk starts at Sløvika camping (visitors park in the gravel parking lot on the other side of the main road). Then follow the road out from the campsite, then turn left onto the main road/right from the gravel parking lot, then sharply up to the right. You will now see Gunstad farm uphill. Follow this road uphill between the fields. Up by the barn, you will see a sign pointing the way to the right along the gravel road and under the railway. Now the loop continues uphill to the right, through varied forest terrain. As you ascend, the view continually improves. When you approach Sløvika panorama, you will walk on a somewhat steep forest path before reaching the viewpoint itself. Here you can take a well-deserved break on the picnic bench and enjoy a great view of Sløvika, Randsfjorden, and Veståsen. From Sløvika panorama, you will follow a path that winds uphill and downhill along the hillside, and after a while, you will reach the railway underpass; a little after passing this, the connecting path to Vangsåsen rundt is met. Follow the signs towards Sløvika runden. If you are returning to the start. The path continues through the forest before coming out onto the gravel parking lot on the other side of the campsite. Have a good trip! Difficulty: The trip is considered easy to moderate. There is some ascent at the start, but the paths are clear and well-used. Surface: Varies between forest path, tractor road, and gravel sections. Highlights Photo-friendly: As the name suggests, this is a place for beautiful photos. It is especially beautiful here at sunset, as the spot is west-facing. Combination possibility: Many combine a trip to the viewpoint with a visit to Hadeland Glassverk or Kistefos-museet (The Twist), both of which are only a short drive (5–10 minutes) away. Picnic spots: JIF Mosjon has a picnic bench on the trail. But there are also natural clearings in the forest that are excellent for a coffee break with a view. Practical info Parking: All hikers/visitors must park in the gravel lot on the other side of the road from Sløvika Camping. The parking is signposted.
