About this spot
Booking and payment for accommodation and provisions: It is now possible to book/reserve a bed at our cabins. Approximately half of the bed capacity at the cabin is allocated for this. Bed reservations can be made via each individual cabin on UT.no or on DNT hyttebestilling. Provisions are paid using the new DNT app. It is important to note that bed reservations are only valid until 7 PM on the day you have booked. If you wish to pay after your stay, use the new DNT app. This can be downloaded from Play or App Store. Before your trip, we recommend the checklist. Should difficulties arise with payment/using the payment app, you will find information on how to contact us at the cabin. Local trail report/board for Raubergshytta: No reports. Location: Raubergshytta is freely situated in magnificent hiking terrain with opportunities for day trips in all directions. From the cabin, T-marked routes go both east to Vangshaugen and Grøvudalshytta, south to Aursjøhytta, and west to Reinsvassbu, while north of the cabin there is an area with plenty of mountain peaks and lakes. The cabin, which was built already in 1949, is clad with natural stone and blends nicely into the terrain. In the summer and autumn of 1993, the cabin was extended and renovated. The fastest access is from the road at Grønnvollsteinen. Just over three hours on a T-marked trail. In winter, the cabin is accessible via the mountain Råstu or Geitådalen where a new bridge has now been built crossing the river at Fahlesetra. Wild reindeer: The cabin is located in one of Norway’s 24 wild reindeer areas. Using mountain areas with wild reindeer places extra demands on us; it is important to be considerate of wild reindeer when traveling in such areas. If you want to know more about the wild reindeer’s use of the mountains and how DNT works with wild reindeer and travel, you can find it here or at dnt.no/villrein. Here you will also find tips on how to be considerate of the reindeer. Registration in guestbook/payment for stay: Upon arrival at the cabin, sign into the guestbook and settle up before departure. Feel free to use DNT’s payment app! With DNT Hyttebetaling on your mobile, cabin-to-cabin trips become even easier! The app also works in cabins without mobile coverage - you then enter your purchases offline at the cabin and pay via the app on your mobile when you get coverage. The DNT key: Some of our cabins are locked with a DNT key. We have several sales points for the key; see overview and information on our website (scroll down a bit) here. If you land by plane at Kvernberget, you can pay for the key in advance and receive a code for the key box we have there. Raubergshytta is open, i.e., not locked with a DNT key. Provisions: At the cabin, you will always find a good selection of canned goods and accessories for dinner, and dry goods for breakfast and packed lunch. Biscuits and chocolate for coffee are also available in the assortment. About the cabin: The cabin is open all year round. The cabin is equipped with a gas hob and everything you need to prepare and serve food. Information about the cabin, provisions, and other practical details can be found in the cabin. WC: Indoor outdoor toilet. Reserve a bed at Raubergshytta here: DNT hyttebestilling Electricity/mobile: The cabin has 12V electricity for lighting and charging possibilities. Mobile coverage about 1 hour from the cabin in the direction of Røymoen. Regarding mobile charging, we sometimes experience some technical challenges. We therefore recommend a power bank as a backup. Beds/accommodation: There are 18 beds in the cabin. In KNT’s cabins, we use a sleeping sheet or personal bedding (pillowcase, duvet cover, and sheet). Sleeping bags are not allowed inside the cabins due to hygiene and bed bug issues. Dog: The cabin has a separate room for the dog and its owner. Due to allergy considerations, dogs are not allowed in other rooms in the cabin; we ask that this be respected. Water: In summer, water is fetched from the river near the cabin. Snow melting in winter. Garbage/Waste: If possible, take garbage/waste back from your trip. Information on garbage/waste disposal can be found in the information binder at the cabin. Tent: Tenting is not facilitated. If you are sleeping in a tent, remember to pay for a day visit/tent, and that the tent should be placed a good distance from the cabin. For stays at the cabin after 6 PM, standard overnight rates apply. Fishing: There is rich trout fishing in the areas around Raubergshytta. More information about this and fishing permits can be found on Sunndal Fjellstyre’s website here. This cabin has received support from the proceeds of Norsk Tipping’s gaming funds.
