Skriurusten is located in Langsudalen with DNT cabins at a comfortable distance. The terrain in the area is varied and easy to hike, and together with the short stages, this makes the Langsua area suitable for children. If you wish for a summit hike during your stay at the cabin, we can recommend a trip to Nordre and Søre Langsua, both over 1500 meters. You won’t find a better view of the area. Opening hours: The old log cabin Skriurusten was restored in 1995, and a new emergency cabin was built. The cabin is owned by Espedalen bygdealmenning, and there is a right of use for hunters during grouse and moose hunting season. The main cabin is therefore closed and reserved for hunters during this period. The emergency cabin is open all year. Early trail marking in winter: Skriurusten is also part of the area that is marked for the winter holiday, so here there are opportunities for nice ski trips along marked trails as early as mid-February. About the cabin: Total number of sleeping places: 16. Number of beds available for booking: 7. Number of beds for drop-in: 9. Beds that can be pre-booked: Emergency cabin: bed no. 2,4,6,8 and 10. Main cabin room 1, bed no. 1 and 2. Equipment: The cabin has all the equipment you need for cooking and a pleasant stay, such as full kitchenware, crockery, and bedding. In addition, you will find a good selection of food in the provisions room. There is no electricity in the cabin, but gas, wood-burning, and candles as light sources. Water is fetched from the nearest stream/lake. Guests arrange their own cooking, water fetching, dishwashing, floor cleaning, and general tidying of the cabin indoors and outdoors. A sleeping bag liner or your own bedding must always be used for overnight stays. Notices with cabin rules and prices can be found at the cabin. Payment: Prices for accommodation and provisions. Please note that the prices at the cabin follow the price list of DNT Oslo og Omegn. Other DNT member associations may have different prices. Go to price list. Pre-booking via hyttebestilling.dnt: It has never been easier to book a cabin trip at DNT cabins. Via hyttebestilling.dnt.no, you can easily see when the cabin is available, explore cabins on a map, and book a spot. DNT Oslo og Omegn offers a limited number of beds for booking. The rest of the beds will be open for drop-in. Arrive at the cabin before 19:00 to secure your reserved bed; after 19:00, the bed may be assigned to others, but your booking is still valid. Pay for food and accommodation in the DNT app: At self-service and unstaffed DNT cabins, you can easily register and pay for accommodation and provisions in the DNT app. Have you pre-booked? Then the accommodation itself is already paid for – only register provisions in the app. Remember to download the app before you go on your trip! The app also works without coverage. Payment slip: You can also pay by filling out a payment slip that you will find at the cabin. Upon departure, place the completed payment slip in the safe and take your copy with you. We will then send you an invoice, but please note that a fee of NOK 50,- will be charged for using a payment slip. Remember to fill in the correct price for accommodation based on age and member/non-member status and all food you have taken. Dog: Dogs are not allowed in common rooms, dining rooms, and bedrooms. There is a dog cage in the outbuilding/emergency cabin, and in the outbuilding near the main cabin.
