About this spot
Haldorbu was originally an old shepherd’s hut that has been restored and converted into a self-service cabin. The cabin was originally used for monitoring and gathering sheep, and the main cabin is still reserved for sheep herders for a short period in the autumn (late August/early September). The cabin is located in the birch forest belt up towards the tree line and has a great view of Kvitfeten and the upper part of Fjelldokkdalen. In 2022, the main cabin was replaced with a new and splendid cabin. The area is child-friendly with short daily stages between the cabins, and opportunities to shorten these further by staying overnight in the many mountain board cabins that are open to hikers. If you wish, the cabin can be reached by bicycle from Kvitfeten. About the cabin: Total number of sleeping places: 15. Number of beds that can be pre-booked: 8. Number of beds for drop-in: 7. Equipment: The cabin has all the equipment you need for cooking and a pleasant stay, such as full kitchenware, crockery, and bedding. In addition, you will find a good selection of food in the provisions room. There is no electricity in the cabin, but gas, wood-burning, and candles as light sources. Solar panel and USB charging possibility if there is enough power in the battery. Water is fetched from the nearest stream/lake. Guests arrange their own cooking, water fetching, dishwashing, floor cleaning, and general tidying of the cabin indoors and outdoors. A sleeping bag liner or your own bedding must always be used for overnight stays. Notices with cabin rules and prices can be found at the cabin.
