About this spot

Naustdalskamben is one of two day-trip cabins in Stad kommune. Naustdalskamben is located approximately halfway between Stårheim and Haugen. The hike up to the cabin takes between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours, depending on where you start from and your pace. The cabin is located at 475 meters above sea level. There are several different paths leading to Naustdalskamben. Here are three different routes: From Reset in Hjelmelandsdalen: This is the gentlest and most family-friendly route. At the entrance to the industrial area at Reset from Fv661, Eid kommune has an agreement for parking for hikers; follow signs. Follow the gravel road into the industrial area, and where the road ends, the path begins. Marked with red sticks on a well-used path for the first 500m, then on a tractor road until you meet the path from Grøthaug / Haugen after 1.5 km. From this open space in the forest, there is a good path all the way further up to the top. The path is well-used and easy to find. At the top, it flattens out and becomes a bit marshy the last stretch to the cabin. 3.2 km in total. From Haugen skule: Parking at Haugen skule. 2 km on gravel road and 2 km on path. From Torvik on Stårheim: Here there is a newly cleared and marked path. Parking at Stårheim stadium. Starting point at a bridge over the river by the power plant. Marked with blue sticks all the way to the top. A trail description will be available on ut.no.
