Elgstua - Sæteren Gård

See an overview of all accommodation options at Sæteren Gård here. Elgstua is a bright and pleasant cabin, beautifully and secludedly located in the forest at idyllic Sæteren Gård. Accommodation Facilities: The cabin is well suited for four people. It is possible to use mattresses in the loft, as well as the sofa bench in the living room. There are duvets and pillows in the cabin for four people. Sleeping bag liner/bed linen must be brought. Sleeping bags are not permitted in the cabin. The main rule is that you should leave the cabin in the condition you wish to find it yourself, and preferably a little better than when you arrived. Necessary cleaning equipment is available in the cabin. Equipment: Elgstua does not have running water or electricity, but there is a good wood-burning stove in the kitchen and a wood-burning stove in the living room. Wood shed and outhouse in immediate vicinity. In the kitchen, there is a gas burner for cooking and necessary equipment. Food must be brought. Water: Water is available at the accessible toilet on the main yard, approx. 300 m from the cabin. Booking: Elgstua is unattended and booked as a single unit. The cabin is available from 2 PM on the day of arrival until 2 PM on the day of departure. The Tourist Association’s cabins are used for outdoor recreation, and parties are not permitted in the cabin. Access: Via a path down between Stallen and Sovehuset. The path is not suitable for strollers/bicycles. Via a gravel road to the right before the last steep hill up to the main yard. The gravel road eventually turns into a path. Dog: If you bring a dog, you must book Spettehytta instead. Spettehytta is the only cabin at Sæteren Gård where dogs are permitted. ABOUT SÆTEREN GÅRD: Sæteren Gård is the children’s own hiking spot in Bærumsmarka. The place is owned and operated by DNT Oslo og Omegn. Here you will find an activity tower, obstacle course, large sandbox, willow labyrinth, bird’s nest swings, stilts, toboggan run, and a large outdoor area to play in. Children can also go on an exploration along the adventure trail, or greet the hens living on the farm. Sæteren Gård is a well-suited destination for day visitors and also offers many accommodation options. Activities are seasonal. Cafe: Farm cafe serving homemade cinnamon rolls, waffles, open-faced rolls, coffee, and soft drinks, among other things. The cafe is open Wednesdays 11 AM - 2 PM, and Saturdays and Sundays 11 AM - 4 PM. Opening hours and selection may vary during school holidays; see updated information here. Food Service: In addition to the cafe’s offerings, we serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner for children’s groups, companies, and parties. Minimum group size is 15 people. Subject to availability. Organized Activities: To make your stay at Sæteren Gård even more exciting, we offer various activity programs with skilled activity leaders for groups over 15 people. Choose between climbing and free fall jumping in the activity tower, zipline, archery and giant slingshot, as well as simple orienteering with fun group tasks along the way.
