Perfect for families with children! Facts about Lundastøl: The cabin is located 242 meters above sea level, in the transition from lowland to mountain landscape. Total number of sleeping places: 2 bedrooms with 10 beds + some mattresses. The cabin offers room rental. If you want the cabin “alone,” you must book both rooms. The cabin is locked with a special key. A DNT key cannot be used. Marked trail to Heio and further to Stovegolvet. Easiest starting point: Summer car road all the way. The road is open for the 2026 season. Hiking season: April - Oct. Nov. 1 - April 1. Car road closed. 1 km walk to the cabin from parking. The Lundastøl cabin is locked and must be booked in advance. There are no provisions at the cabin. Bring all your own food. The cabin is equipped with everything you need for cooking and your stay: kitchenware, dinnerware, stove/oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher. There is also a bathroom with toilet and shower. The beds are distributed among two bedrooms, with a somewhat steep staircase leading up. Duvets and pillows are available, but you must bring a sleeping sheet, your own bed linen, or a sleeping bag. Running water, electricity, stove/oven, toilet, shower are provided. There is mobile coverage at the cabin. The cabin must be tidied, cleaned, and look nice when you leave it. Booking and payment: Lundastøl is a rental cabin. It deviates from standard terms and prices. Advance booking - payment for cabin stay: Book Lundastøl via hyttebestilling.dnt.no. Terms and conditions are included with the order confirmation. Book group visits directly to [email protected]. For any discount, the booking must go through this email address. Separate discounts, terms, and cancellation rules apply for group visits. Drop-in visits: It is not possible to visit Lundastøl without booking in advance. Dogs: Dogs are welcome at most of BHT’s cabins in designated areas. For reasons of allergy, hygiene, and others’ fear of dogs, it is important that guidelines for dogs are followed. Guide dogs are exempt from accommodation rules and follow their owner. Lundastøl: It is not adapted for dogs at Lundastøl. Overview of dogs at BHT cabins. Guidelines for dogs: Guests with a dog must book a dog crate. The dog sleeps there at night. Facilities for dogs are generally in a safety cabin, with limited access to rooms other than where the dog crate is placed. See the overview for each cabin. Dogs must not be in sofas, beds, use blankets, or bedding from the cabin. Bring your own bowl, blanket, and towel. Do not use equipment belonging to the cabin. Clean up well after the dog - also after toilet visits. Always keep the dog on a leash at the cabin and follow current leash laws. Be considerate. Your dog can cause fear in others, even if it is the world’s kindest. Groups: Lundastøl is suitable for smaller groups. Good indoor comfort, many outdoor activity options, and easy access make it popular. Fishing and activities: Tysevatnet is not far away. There is free fishing there, with the possibility of catching trout. Otherwise, there are hiking trails right outside the cabin. In winter, ski trails are prepared. There are tables, benches, and a large shelter right by the cabin. A visit to Lundastøl offers many hiking opportunities in the area. Marked trails, Stord på langs, Kattnakken, and the two day trip cabins Utsletteslottet and Tveitaslottet. The DNT cabin Stovegolvet is nearby and can be combined with Lundastøl.
