About this spot

The trip starts in Aksdal sentrum. Parking is available at Tysværtunet kulturhus, Aksdal Senter, or in the parking lot south of E-134. Follow Aksdalsvegen, turn left, and follow Alvanutvegen up to the end of the road. From there, the trip continues on a path further up towards the summit. The trail is clearly visible and marked. The ascent is approximately 1.5 km and covers a total of 179 vertical meters. NB! Parking is prohibited along Alvanutvegen and at the turning point at the top. This is due to emergency vehicles. Alvanuten is the 224-meter-high mountain north of Aksdal with a radio mast at the top. Here you will find signs showing the way to both Alvanuten and Valhest. The trails to both these destinations coincide at the beginning. At the trail junction for Valhest, follow the path that goes steeply uphill towards the west. After approx. 20 minutes, you will reach a stile and now see the eastern peak of Alvanuten with the radio mast directly above you. The path can sometimes be wet and slippery.
