About this spot
Hang out under the treetops. At this spot, there are three sets of poles at one end and one set of poles at the other end between two shelters, where up to four hammocks can easily be set up in the poles’ metal eyelets. The poles are two meters high. Bring your own hammock or borrow one for free from the hammock hotel at Tipperuphus - follow this link to book a hammock. Next to the hammock site is a small fire pit with three benches, which is shared with Pigsvampen shelter and Koralsvampen shelter. The hammock site was established in collaboration with Foreningen for Tisvildevejen, Haldbjerg Naturcampus, and Nationalpark Kongernes Nordsjælland and is free to use on a first-come, first-served basis. Pigsvampen and Koralsvampen shelters must be booked. You must bring your own water and firewood. It is permitted to collect branches from the forest floor for firewood, but trees must not be felled. The shelter site must be left tidy, and all waste must be taken out of the forest. Remember to extinguish the fire before leaving the shelter site. If you are using public transport, you can go to Kagerup St. (Hillerød) or Duemose St., from where you can hike approximately 2.5 km to the hammock site. There is also car parking at Kagerup St. as well as at the parking lot at Ny Mårumvej and at the parking lot at Skovvej, from where there is an approximately 2 km hike. If you come from Kagerup St., you must pass through the enclosure in Naturnationalpark Gribskov to reach the hammock site. Scroll through the pictures on this page to find the map showing suggested routes and the fence’s entrances and exits.
