Pigsvampen shelter

Pigsvampen shelter is located in a small hollow in the terrain, surrounded by beautiful forest. It shares a fireplace with Koralsvampen shelter and an overnight stay area for hammocks. Koralsvampen shelter is booked separately, and the hammock area is available for free use on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, be prepared to make room for an extra twist bread over the fire if you meet someone enjoying a night in a hammock, or someone who has booked the other shelter at the site. Two hammock poles have also been set up between the two shelters, so you can relax in your hammock while the coffee brews over the fire. It is possible to pitch a couple of smaller tents within 20 meters of the shelter. There is space for 2-3 overnight guests in Pigsvampen shelter. You must bring your own water and firewood. It is permitted to collect branches from the forest floor for firewood, but trees must not be felled. The shelter site must be left tidy, and all trash must be carried out of the forest. Remember to extinguish the fire before leaving the shelter site! If you are using public transport, you can go to Kagerup St. (Hillerød) or Duemose St., from where there is a hike of approximately 2.5 km to the shelter site in both cases. There is also car parking at Kagerup St. as well as at the parking lot by Ny Mårumvej and at the parking lot by Skovvej. The hike from the latter two parking lots to the shelter site is approximately 2 km. If coming from Kagerup St., you must go through the enclosure in Naturnationalpark Gribskov to reach the shelter site.
