About this spot
The fire pit belongs to Aarhus Municipality and can be booked via Book Naturen. Just behind the large Iron Age shelter site in Lisbjerg, a double zipline leads to Kimbrerdalen – an exciting play landscape built on the edge of an old gravel pit. When standing at the fire pit and looking further into the forest, with the zipline behind you, you can see the area where you are allowed to hang your hammock and tarp. The area is delimited by four red poles with pictograms. In the area, there is space for 8 overnight guests in brought hammocks or tarps. The play landscape includes: • A combat arena with a balance beam • A watchtower as a counterpart to the shelter site’s large Limes tower • A fire pit with tiered seating • A multi-climbing structure Practical information: • Bring your own water and firewood. • If you also wish to use one or more of the five shelters on the site, you must book them separately. • Note that several of the herbs in the gravel pit are protected. Playing is permitted throughout the area, but it is forbidden to remove plants from the area. • Just east of the shelter site itself, a forest toilet can be found. Directions: Several parking lots can be found along Elevvej, including opposite the house at Elevvej 24, 8200 Aarhus. From the parking lot, follow the farm road north until a path appears on the right hand, which leads to the site. GPS: 56°13’39.0”N 10°10’15.3”E
