Shelter i Lisbjerg gammel skov

The shelter belongs to Aarhus Kommune and can be booked via Book Naturen. The old part of Lisbjerg Skov is designated as a ‘silent forest,’ meaning there is a focus on a quiet nature experience, tranquility, and contemplation. The forest is therefore perfectly suited for hiking or mushroom foraging, and if you are lucky, you can experience the forest’s rich wildlife, including roe deer, foxes, hares, and pheasants. Parts of the forest are designated as untouched forest, which means that no trees are felled or planted. The forest is left to manage itself, and when old trees die of age or fall over, it provides good growth conditions for organisms dependent on dead wood. Practical information: • When you book the shelter, you have automatically booked the associated fire pit. • You must bring your own firewood from home. • You are allowed to collect dry branches from the forest floor. • There are no waste, water, or toilet facilities at the shelter. • You must take your trash home with you, so remember trash bags. Directions: Lisbjerg Skov is located approx. 11 kilometers from Aarhus Centrum and is easily accessible by bicycle, car, and bus. There is an entrance to Lisbjerg Skov from Randersvej (at no. 450). There is a low Swedish-red sign with the text “Lisbjerg Skov”. Follow the gravel road for approx. 400 m until it turns 90 degrees to the left. Follow the forest road past the memorial stone and the red barrier. On your left (to the north) you have Ruholm mose. After approx. 220 meters, the forest road splits – here you must keep left. After approx. 30 meters, by the grey water bore, turn left onto a small track that leads through the old forest. Continue along the track for approx. 300 meters. From the parking lot, it’s approx. a 10-minute walk to the shelter. Alternatively, at the red forest barrier, you can also follow the road, Trige Skovvej, left around, north of the bog. Approx. 75 m after entering the forest, keep right and walk approx. 100 m into the forest, along the forest edge on a smaller path.
