The shelter belongs to Aarhus Municipality and can be booked via Book Naturen. The shelter site consists of 5 shelters, arranged in a semicircle facing two associated fire pits. The site is themed after the Iron Age and designed as a small village community fortified behind a palisade fence with a moat and entrance gate. A lookout tower is placed at the highest point of the area, so you can easily get an overview of everything. The area also contains an obstacle course, called Kimbrerdalen. For events with more than 45 participants, it is also recommended to book the fire pit “Kimbrerdalen”. The new part of Lisbjerg Skov is a fine combination of forest and open landscape with plains, lakes, gravel pits, and winding roads. Two marked hiking trails offer a good opportunity to explore the area. Practical information: • When you book the shelter site, you have automatically booked the associated fire pits. • You must bring your own firewood. • You are allowed to collect dry branches from the forest floor. • Waste bins are placed by the shelters. • In the planting behind the shelters, there is a primitive forest toilet. • There is no water at the site. Directions: At the entrance to Lisbjerg Skov from Elevvej, there is a parking lot. There is a sign for Lisbjerg Skov and Elevvej no. 23. Follow the gravel road from the parking lot for approx. 200 m north. Where the road splits – follow the road to the right past a red barrier. The shelter site is on the left side after about 200 meters. It is about a 10-minute walk from the parking lot to the shelter site. It is possible to have the barrier opened if there are disabled participants at the event – only loading and unloading is permitted at the shelter site. Parking must take place in the parking lot.
