Grønfrøen Shelter

The site is located near the remains of the royal castle, Dronningholm, which was built in the Middle Ages and torn down in the 16th century. Primitive campsite for 10 people (including shelter for 4 pers.). Bring your own firewood. Water can be fetched from a nearby clubhouse during the summer. It is not allowed to swim in the lake. Directions: From the roundabout in Frederiksværk (with the blue “Forvandlingens Bue”), drive east along Karlsgavevej onto the Arrenæs peninsula. After 2.3 km, you pass Dronningholm Castle Ruin. After approx. 130 more meters, turn right onto the first road on the right, where there is a parking lot at the end. From here, continue on foot for the last 200 m. The site is located south of Ladegårdssøen, i.e., walk right around the lake. Marked with a pole with a yellow marker. You may stay for a maximum of two nights at a small campsite. Remember to extinguish the fire before leaving the campsite, and take your trash out of the forest!
