Kongsvold Fjeldstue by Frichs Hotel & Spiseri is open from June 15, 2020. Kongsvold Fjeldstue by Frichs Hotel & Spiseri is a historic hotel with its own railway station. Kongsvold is located adjacent to Dovrefjell National Park 900 meters above sea level at the top of Drivdalen. The old coaching inn consists of over 20 well-maintained buildings, and the interiors contain many antiques from several hundred years of mountain lodge operation. The Pilgrim’s Route passes through the courtyard, and DNT-marked routes go west to Reinheim and Snøhetta, east towards Folldal, and south to Hjerkinn, Eysteinskyrkja, and Rondane. North of Kongsvold, you can walk Vårstigen, and guided musk ox tours are arranged every day during the season. Registration and payment can be done at Kongsvold. Kongsvold Fjeldstue by Frichs Hotel & Spiseri has 32 hotel rooms, lounges, a dining hall, and conference facilities. Kongsvold Fjeldstue by Frichs Hotel & Spiseri is a traditional hotel with modern comfort. The mountain lodge tradition dates back to the 12th century, and the oldest buildings we now have are from 1720. Kongsvold has been restored in collaboration with Riksantikvaren and local craftsmen and has 32 rooms with shower and toilet, a modern lecture hall, pleasant lounges, and a dining hall for 70 guests. Kongsvold Fjeldstue changed its name as of June 15 to Kongsvold Fjeldstue by Frichs Hotel & Spiseri, and operations will be handled by Frichs gruppen (www.frich.no) from the same date.
