Smedmyrkoia is a simple, easily accessible cabin in Nordmarka, with a short approach from Skansebakken and a great location by Lysedammene. The cabin is located by the trail up towards Oppkuven, one of 5 peaks over 500 meters above sea level in the area. The cabin is suitable for families with children. Booking Smedmyrkoia is unstaffed and opened with DNT’s standard key. Everyone can use the cabin, but only DNT members have access to the key and you must pre-book a spot at the cabin. The person responsible for the booking must be at least 18 years old. The cabin is available from 2 PM on the day of arrival until 2 PM on the day of departure. The Tourist Association’s cabins are used for outdoor recreation, and it is not permitted to have parties at the cabin. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed inside the cabin. Day visits You are welcome for a day visit between 12 PM and 4 PM if no one else has booked the cabin. Remember to clean up after yourself and Vipps for the visit. See notice at the cabin. Equipment The cabin is equipped with a gas burner for cooking food, a wood-burning stove for heating, and all other equipment for cooking and washing dishes. No electricity or running water. The firewood in the cabin must only be used for firing the wood stoves, not for outdoor bonfires. You must bring all food yourself. The cabin only has LED lights. Remember to turn off the lights when not needed. Toilet paper and sanitary bark should be in the cabin, but feel free to bring some extra toilet paper. The beds have duvets, pillows, and blankets, but everyone must use their own sleeping sheet or bedding. The main rule is that you should leave the cabin in the condition you wish to find it, and preferably a little better than when you arrived.
