Kobberhaughytta is DNT Oslo and Omegn’s grand lodge in Oslomarka. The cabin is situated high and freely in the southwest of Nordmarka and has a unique fireplace lounge with panoramic views over Sørkedalen, Bærumsmarka, and the southern part of Krokskogen. Booking All guests must pre-book their stay at the cabin. Kobberhaughytta is open for overnight stays most Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays throughout the year. The cabin is closed for overnight stays on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. You can book up to 2 months in advance. Further in advance than this, capacity is reserved for larger groups wishing to rent the entire cabin. Check the cabin’s websites for updated opening hours. Kobberhaughytta was upgraded in 2019. You can now stay in the new, splendid sleeping building with bunk beds in 2-, 4-, and 8-bed rooms. Here are also new shower and toilet facilities, as well as common rooms. Both the new building and the rebuilt entrance area have universal design. The kitchen has been expanded and we have a new dining hall. Overnight stays at the cabin can be booked all year round. Follow the news on the cabin’s homepage where exact holiday periods are published. Check updated opening hours on the cabin’s websites. Overnight stays for smaller groups and individual guests can be booked on our websites. Larger groups wishing to book the entire cabin are asked to contact us by email. Outdoor accommodation Overnight stays in lean-tos Down by Kobberhaugtjernet there are two lean-tos where you can also stay overnight. Overnight stays must be booked. Tent You are heartily welcome to bring your own tent/hammock. You can pitch your tent or hang your hammock as long as you are at least 150 meters away from buildings. 24-hour self-service warming hut By the garage, we have a warming hut that is always open. You are always welcome here! Here you will find a vending machine with various treats, so you can buy drinks, chocolate, nut bars, crispbread, and other small goodies (card, Vipps, or coin). You will also find, among other things, bike repair kits, ski wax, mosquito repellent, hiking food, and blister plasters. Arrival/departure Rooms are available from 4 PM on arrival day until 10 AM on departure day. All overnight stays must be booked in advance; it is not possible to stay overnight without a reservation. It is not possible to drive or book transport all the way to Kobberhaughytta. In winter, you have many opportunities to reach Kobberhaughytta on skis. Here you will find four ski tours that take you to the cabin. Kobberhaughytta buns Kobberhaughytta has its own bakery, in the middle of the forest. Fresh buns are baked here every weekend, and in winter, every day. The staff at the cabin takes great pride in serving homemade, fluffy, and delicious yeast pastries. To make the buns as good as possible, high-quality ingredients from Norwegian producers are used. Read more about the fantastic buns at Kobberhaughytta Perhaps Marka’s best waffles The recipe for Kobberhaughytta’s waffles is secret - and is originally the recipe of Erlend’s grandmother, the manager of Kobberhaughytta. The recipe comes from Nordmøre, and here waffles are called “Bakels”. The cabin’s philosophy is that a freshly baked waffle is the best waffle. Therefore, they don’t bake large stacks of waffles, but bake them to order. Member prices are not given on items in the kiosk and cafe. Accessibility for the disabled The main cabin is an older building with a reception, kiosk, dining hall, and meeting room on the entrance level. There is a ramp to the entrance, doors with a clear width over 80cm, and thresholds maximum 5cm. The lodge building was built in 2020 and has good accessibility inside, including accessible bedrooms and accessible bathrooms. The entrance has a 5cm threshold and a heavy entrance door.
