Volunteer work is planned at Åsedalen from June 26-28. This weekend, it would be good if you found another cabin alternative so the volunteer crew can have good working conditions. Åsedalen turisthytte is a natural focal point if you are hiking in Stølsheimen. Here, routes and hikers meet from east, west, south, and north. The cabin is idyllically located close to Halsetvatnet. The cabin offers great views and the finest swimming holes in the river right nearby. At Åsedalen, there’s a high comfort factor for both young and old. Good trails and a marked winter route make the cabin attractive all year round. Facts about Åsedalen turisthytte: The cabin is located 820 meters above sea level in lush mountain terrain. Number of sleeping places: 25. Number of beds available for booking: 22. Number of beds for drop-in: 3. T-marked trail from Stølsvatnet (the dam), Bjergane, Selhamar, and Solrenningen. Easiest starting point: Bjergane, construction road from Vikafjellet, approx. 4 hours on a good trail. Hiking season: Late June - Oct. Ski season: Marked from Selhamar and Solrenningen until Easter. Pre-booking is recommended at Åsedalen. Åsedalen Turisthytte is unlocked, accessible all year round, and consists of a main cabin and an emergency cabin. There are plenty of sleeping places and equipment for overnight stays in both cabins. Åsedalen has a well-stocked provisions store and everything else you need for cooking and your stay: kitchenware, dinnerware, gas, wood, and candles. There are duvets, pillows, and blankets. It is mandatory to use a sleeping bag liner, your own bed linen, or a sleeping bag. Main cabin: Kitchen, living room, provisions store, and 2 bedrooms with a total of 8 beds downstairs. In the loft, there are 10 beds distributed across 2 rooms and a sleeping loft. Emergency cabin: Combined living room and bedroom. Fully equipped with 6 sleeping places and 2 dog cages. Hob with 3 gas burners for cooking, wood-burning stove for heating, outhouse. Solar panel system for simple lighting. No mobile charging possibility. No mobile coverage at the cabin. Mandatory to bring your own sleeping bag liner/sleeping bag/bed linen. The cabin must be tidied, cleaned, and look nice when you leave it. Booking and payment.
