About this spot
Open cabin owned by Statskog at Koievatnet near the western end of Altevatnet in Bardu municipality. Koievassbua is nicely situated with views over Koievatnet and Koievassdalen. The cabin is located where the mountain birch forest transitions to treeless mountain north of the western end of Altevatnet. It is about 5 kilometers to walk along a trail from the end of the road. The cabin was built by Statskog employee Albert Fosli and is constructed with a combination of log building and standard timber framing.
