Bekkedalskoia

Bekkedalskoia is located in a sparse pine forest just south of Kvernesvola mountain in Rendalen municipality. Originally named Kvernøibua, it stood by the Mistra river where it was used as a lumberjack’s cabin until the war, and for fishing large trout, known as “sløfiske.” For this fishing, the river water was diverted into a wooden channel, and fish were caught in a wooden box through a grate where water easily flowed through. The cabin was moved to its current location in the 1980s and was then named Bekkedalskoia. Not far away, on top of Kvernesvola, you will find another open cabin, Brannvakthytta, which is also worth a visit. The view from there over Rendalen and the Sølen massif is magnificent.
