About this spot
Fossvannskoia is a simple but cozy cabin in Sølvverket state forest in Kongsberg municipality. It was moved from Kolknutfjellet in 1913 where it was used for charcoal burning. The cabin is nicely situated by the old logging dam Fossvannsdammen, with a view over Fossvannet. This lake offers good trout fishing. It is very pleasant to cycle to the cabin on good forest roads. The area is also well-suited for paddling, and you can paddle across Kolsjø and up to the cabin. On the way, you pass Pråmvika, which is the new cabin of Kongsberg og Omegns Turistforening. In 2018, a new stove was installed in Fossvannskoia.
