The unserviced cabin is well-suited as a day trip destination for families with children, both summer and winter, and also has sleeping space for seven people. LOCATION: Lageråkvisla within Gåsbu in Hamar has both a cabin (unserviced overnight cabin) and a service cabin. It is a relatively short walk to Lageråkvisla from the parking lot; we recommend skiing from Monaplassen and walking from Gåsbu during the bare-ground season. This makes this place a child-friendly option for a cabin trip all year round. EQUIPMENT: Bunks with mattresses provide sleeping space for seven people. There are no duvets, so a sleeping bag must be brought. Pillows and blankets are in plastic boxes under the bunks. Electric power for lighting and a hotplate. Firewood for heating. In winter, snow must be melted for water; in summer, there is a tap on the wall of the service cabin. ACTIVITIES: Lageråkvisla is located along the floodlit trail with prepared ski tracks. In winter, there is a sledding/ski play hill by the cabin. Just outside the cabin, there is a lean-to and a bonfire area. The area in front of the cabin has been fenced in during summer to keep grazing animals away. In summer, you can walk on blue-marked trails. DOG: You can bring a dog to all HHT cabins, but at Lageråkvisla, there are no special arrangements for dogs. We ask dog owners to be considerate of any other visitors. BOOKING AND PAYMENT: At HHT cabins, all beds can be pre-booked, but hikers who have not booked may arrive. If you have not pre-booked and paid in advance, you can pay with the DNT app. Pay for accommodation in the DNT app: At self-serviced and unserviced DNT cabins, you can easily register and pay for accommodation in the DNT app. Remember to download the app before you go on your trip!
