About this spot
The day-trip cabin is beautifully located on Klepp (600 m.a.s.l.) on the north side of Vangsvatnet. The day-trip cabin is freely accessible to everyone 24/7, all year round. The goal of the cabin is to stimulate the joy of hiking in the local area. In the cabin you can eat your packed lunch, warm (or dry) your body by the fireplace, and enjoy books from the cabin library. It is not allowed to stay overnight in the cabin. The day-trip cabin is yours! Use the cabin inside, outside, and as often as you like. And remember that it is also everyone else’s cabin, so respect that others may use the cabin while you are there; and leave the cabin as you would like to find it yourself. Access from Heggjavad: Drive to Raugstad and further up to Heggjavad (parking fee). From the parking lot, walk down the road for about 400 m. Here, turn left and walk up the tractor road for about 2.2 km until you reach the Dagsturhytta. The hike is 2.6 km one way and has a 270 meter ascent. Show consideration for grazing animals: There are grazing animals in the area. Close the gates after you and show consideration for the animals. Parking: It is important to park in the parking lot at Heggjavad. It is not allowed to park in passing places. Also remember to pay the parking fee. Leash Law: Feel free to bring your dog on a hike to the Dagsturhytta, but we remind you of the leash law regulation that applies to Voss Herad. NB! The cabin is owned by Voss Herad.
