The day-trip cabin Havglimt. On July 7, 2023, day-trip cabin No. 3 in Stad municipality opened, located in Lia, directly below Lundebrekkhornet down towards Nollen, with a great view over the village of Leikanger. The cabin was named Havglimt, which is fitting as we catch glimpses of the Stadhavet sea! Posted: 07.07.23 Honningsvåg Dagsturhytta Stad municipality - Havglimt. Dagsturhytta Havglimt on Stadlandet was put in place early June this year and opened on July 7, 2023. The cabin is located in Lia on Stadlandet and is the third day-trip cabin in Stad municipality. The cabin is number 60 produced by Stad Kystbygg, a stone’s throw (1.7km) from here. The cabin has views of both Leikanger center and out over Vanylvsgapet where we glimpse Stadhavet in the distance. We also have panoramic views of all of Sunnmøre. Great utility value for schools and kindergartens. Good for camping by the cabin and possibilities to continue to Lundebrekkhornet or other peaks. See trips on UT.no. About the cabin/trip. Starting point: From Stadlandet school. Length (one way): 2 kilometers. Time (one way): 0.5-1 hour. Ascent (total): 244 meters. Difficulty: Easy. Height above sea level: 226 masl. Facilities: Wood stove: YES. Toilet: YES. Electricity: YES (solar cells). Accessibility: Not accessible with strollers or wheelchairs. Overnight stay: NO (NO STAY OVER). Access and parking. Parking at Stadlandet training center (school) or by the kindergarten if it’s full. It’s just under 2 km before you reach Leikanger center on Vestkappvegen #620. Please do not park at the bus stop or drive up into the residential area. The path to the cabin. There are several different paths leading to Lia, but only one is marked and official: From the School, follow the road to the top of the residential area behind the school (500m) and turn right at the last bend before the top. Follow the marked path upwards (400m) until you reach open country. Then turn left inwards and follow along the fence on the upper side (600m). Here you will find a picnic table to rest tired legs. Over a bridge and to the right on a path/road upwards along the river (400m). Here you will again find a picnic table where you can enjoy the view and gather strength before the final ascent. Approx. 150 m detour to the left towards a cabin which is not a path. Distances. It is 2 km one way and approximately 270 meters elevation. The cabin is located at 226 masl. It is between 30 minutes and 1 hour walking time depending on pace. Digital and analog knowledge sharing. The cabin is the first with a KULA (Cultural Landscape) information sign about the area where one can scan a QR code to access a guestbook. Specifically, signs with information and a QR code have been put up, where people can go to a website and read more – and not least share their own knowledge. The project, which is now receiving support from the Directorate for Cultural Heritage, is a preliminary project that includes eleven day-trip cabins, eight municipalities, and these seven KULA landscapes in Vestland and Rogaland: One of them is Stadlandet – The weather-beaten heather landscape (Stad). One goal of the “Knutepunkt for kunnskap” (Knowledge Hub) project is to create a model and a portal for the dissemination and knowledge sharing of the cultural historical landscape associated with each individual day-trip cabin. Hikers can share knowledge via digital services, but it is important to us that knowledge can also be shared analogously. Therefore, we use the cabin guestbook.
