Åmodtshytto - Dagsturhytta i Sokndal kommune

The day-trip cabin Åmodtshytto is beautifully located on top of Åmodtsfjellet with a view over Hauge in Dalane. The hike is two kilometers each way and takes about 30 minutes for an adult to walk. Allow more time if you are bringing small children. The cabin is located 120 meters above sea level, with about 150 meters of total elevation gain for the hike up. The cabin is well adapted for hikers, with good seating both under cover and in the open air. You can reach Åmodtshytto from two different blue-marked trails. Both start at Eikedal cemetery and have access from the south side. One path goes up the mountainside from Mydlandsveien, and the other path winds up the mountainside along Blåfjellveien. Via Mydlandsveien: Start from the parking lot at Eikedal cemetery, follow the pedestrian and cycle path, and cross the footbridge over the Sokno river in the direction of Flekkefjord. Turn left and follow Mydlandsveien for approx. 100 meters. The path branches off and goes up along the mountainside. Here, the path is clearly marked with its own sign to the right. Then follow the blue-marked route all the way to Åmodtshytto. Via Blåfjellveien: Start from the parking lot at Eikedal cemetery, follow the pedestrian and cycle path, and cross the footbridge over the Sokno river in the direction of Flekkefjord. Continue straight along Blåfjellveien. When you reach a car passing point on the right side, the path starts on the left side. The path is marked with its own sign to the left. From there, follow the blue-marked route all the way to Åmodtshytto. NB: Show caution with open fire and remember the fire ban during the summer season. Animals graze in the area all year, so remember the leash law.
