Booking and payment for accommodation and provisions: It is now possible to book/reserve a bed in our cabins. Approx. half of the bed capacity is allocated for this in the cabin. Bed reservations can be made via each individual cabin on UT.no or on DNT hyttebestilling. Provisions are paid for using the new DNT-app. It is important to note that bed reservations are only valid until 19:00 on the day you have booked. If you wish to pay after your stay, use the new DNT-app. This can be downloaded from Play or App-store. Before your trip, we recommend the checklist. Should you encounter difficulties with payment/using the payment app, you will find information on how to contact us at the cabin. Local trail report/board for Sollia: None. Construction work is taking place on the trail between Sollia and Storlisetra, a little north of Fjelnset farm at Vinjeøra. Follow the marked T-trail towards the construction area. Here it should be signposted and marked with T’s indicating where to walk safely through the construction area. Sollia is the seventh cabin on Fjordruta when you start from Kristiansund airport. Most of the cabins and hikes on Fjordruta are easily accessible and child-friendly. Fjordruta also has status as a national SignaTur. The cabin is part of the “Solrunden” triangle. SignaTur is a collection of Norway’s finest long-distance hikes – carefully selected, quality-assured, and highly recommended by DNT. Location: Sollia is located approx. 300 meters above sea level overlooking Vinjefjorden with views east to Staurset and beautiful mountain areas to the south. The cabin has a unique location with fantastic views to the south, and can in many ways be said to be Northwest Norway’s answer to the mountain farms in Storfjorden and Geirangerfjorden in Sunnmøre. Sollia is a beautiful farmstead that originated from an old farm. The cabin is built on the remains of the masonry of a barn, and people have lived here since the early 1600s, probably from even earlier times. Otherwise, as the name suggests, Sollia is sunny. Enjoying the afternoon sun on the bench outside the cabin is not to be disdained, and if you come here during blueberry season, you should definitely take a trip to the hills behind the cabin. Triangle hikes connected to cabins and routes are popular, and on Fjordruta, there are several such possibilities. Sollia can be part of several alternative triangle hikes: From Todalen in Aure over Todalsfjellet to Storfiskhytta, from Storfiskhytta to Sollia and from Sollia to Todalen, or starting from Vinjeøra over to Storfiskhytta, further to Sollia over Snøfjell and returning to Vinjeøra. Check out more about “Solrunden” here. From the cabin, it is also possible to take a day trip to Vardefjellet, which is located northeast of the cabin. From the top, there is a fine view over the fjord and surrounding mountains. Trollheimsfjella can be glimpsed in the distance. Registration in guest book/payment for stay: Upon arrival at the cabin, you sign into the guest book and settle up before departure. Feel free to use DNT’s payment app! With DNT Cabin Payment on your mobile, hut-to-hut hiking becomes even easier! The app also works in cabins without mobile coverage – you then enter your purchases offline at the cabin and pay via the app on your mobile when you get coverage. The DNT-key: Some of our cabins are locked with a DNT-key. We have several sales points for the key; see overview and information on our websites (scroll down a bit) here. If you land by plane at Kvernberget, you can pay for the key in advance and receive a code for the key box we have there. The cabin is locked with a DNT-key. Provisions: At the cabin, you will always find a good selection of canned goods and accessories for dinner, and dry goods for breakfast and your packed lunch. Biscuits and chocolate for coffee are also available in the assortment. About the cabin: The cabin is open all year round and is equipped with a gas hob and everything needed to prepare and serve food. Electricity/mobile: The cabin has 12V electricity for lighting and charging possibilities. The cabin has mobile coverage. Regarding mobile charging, we sometimes experience some technical challenges. We therefore recommend a power bank as a backup. Beds/accommodation: There are 17 beds in the cabin; additionally, it is possible to place 4 on a flat bed and 2 on a sofa. In KNT’s cabins, we use a sleeping bag liner or brought-along bedding (pillowcase, duvet cover, and sheet). Sleeping bags are not permitted for use inside the cabins due to hygiene and bed bug issues. Dog: Dogs are allowed in one of the bedrooms but must only stay there under supervision to ensure they are not in the beds. Otherwise, dogs must be outside the cabin and not in common areas due to consideration for allergy sufferers. We ask that this be respected. Water: You will find it in the hose between the main cabin and the WC. Rubbish/Waste: If possible, take rubbish/waste back from your trip. Information on rubbish/waste management can be found in the information binder in the cabin. Tent: It is not set up for tenting, but it may be possible to tent on the mountain pasture. Remember to pay for day visits/tents, and that tents should be placed a good distance from the cabin. For stays at the cabin after 18:00, regular overnight accommodation must be paid for.
