About this spot

The beach is approximately 150 m long and consists of a grassy area. At the waterline itself and about 10-20 meters out into the water, it is sandy. Close to the beach, there is a small tent site with 2 shelters, a large campfire site, a toilet, and space for tents. Here, there is peace and idyll by Horsens Fjord with flowers and grazing cattle on the salt marshes. The site is sheltered from the land side by an old apple orchard and screened by smaller trees. A good place to see birds during the day; wading birds, cormorants, and the sea eagle pair that breeds on the protected island of Vorsø, which you can see across. A good place to see stars at night, if it’s clear, as there is low light pollution and a clear view of the sky. Perhaps you will hear the long-eared owl… Facilities: • Overnight stays in tents or shelters. Shelters can be booked via a link. • A maximum of 2 consecutive nights is allowed at the site. • Picnic tables and a higher kitchen table. • Fire pit – bring your own firewood; dry twigs and smaller branches may be collected. • Leave the site clean and tidy – take all rubbish with you. • Water tap open during the summer half of the year, year-round toilet (dry toilet). • Relatively wheelchair accessible, as one can be dropped off at the parking lot near the shelter and drive over reasonably even grass. The site is located on Naturstyrelsen’s land but is established and operated by Horsens Kommune, Natur og Miljø.
