About this spot

The shelter is built from raw larch wood – including posts, floor, and roof covering (felt shingles) – and is placed on a foundation of boulders. One of the walls is made of plexiglass, so you can also enjoy the view from inside the shelter. The shape is inspired by an inverted boat (serving as both protection and a means of transport). Larch wood will turn grey within a few years, blending well with the surroundings. From the parking lot at Enslev Kirke, a path leads down to the shelter, which is located by a windbreak. Access to toilets and water is approximately 50 meters away at the cemetery. Open fires are not permitted, but you can use a Trangia stove for cooking, and a table and bench set is available at the parking lot.
