About this spot
The shelters belong to Aarhus Municipality and can be booked via Book Naturen. The two shelters are built on a small hilltop with a beautiful view over Åbo Skov and Harlev Church. A path system makes it possible to get around in the newly planted forest. The forest is located in Aarhus Ådal and forms part of a fine recreational and scenic whole with connections to the area around Årslev Engsø. At the bottom of the river valley, in the middle of the forest, several small ponds have been created. At the shelter site, a fire pit, a covered dining area, and hammocks have been established. Furthermore, there is a tent pitching area. Practical information: • When you book the shelter, you have automatically booked the associated fire pit. • You must bring your own firewood. • You are allowed to collect dry branches from the forest floor. • A primitive forest toilet and a water tap are available close to the shelters. • There is space for a maximum of 8 people in each shelter. • The booking applies to both shelters. Directions: Parking is available in the parking lot, Harlevholmvej 11A, 200 meters east of Brydehøjvej. An additional 200 meters east of the parking lot, the shelter site is located at the address Harlevholmvej 11B. GPS: 56°07’42.0”N 10°01’14.6”E.
