About this spot
The shelter belongs to Aarhus Municipality and can be booked via Book Naturen. Moesgård Skov is an old deciduous forest with rich bird and animal life, covering an area of 153 hectares. The forest has many good gravel paths, making it well-suited for exercise runs and hikes along the coast. The forest is also a popular excursion destination, and many dog owners daily take their dogs for a walk in the marked dog forest, where it is permitted to walk dogs off-leash. There are marked bridle paths and mountain bike trails in the forest. If you wish to stay overnight in Moesgård Skov, you can book the shelter, which is located on a hilltop by Skelbækken. The spot is peacefully and well-hidden in a small grove of deciduous trees. The southern part of Moesgård Skov, as well as the forest area between Strandskovvej and the water, is a protected natural area in the EU, so please show consideration for plants and animals. The forest area, with its well-developed path system, offers good opportunities for walks, and the shelter is within walking distance of both the coast and Moesgård Museum. Practical information: • When you book the shelter, you have automatically booked the associated fire pit. • You must bring your own firewood. • You are allowed to collect dry branches. • There are no waste, water, or toilet facilities at the shelter. • Please take your waste home with you.
