Shelter i Hørhaven på bakken

The shelter belongs to Aarhus Municipality and can be booked via Book Naturen. This shelter offers views over Hørhaven and a glimpse of the day shelter and the water. A fire pit has been established in front of the shelter. Hørhaven is an open dry grassland with scattered trees and bushes, located close to the coast. Here there are good opportunities for outdoor activities in the open grass area. There are two additional shelter areas with associated fire pits in Hørhaven. From the area, there is a staircase leading down to the beach. Hørhaven is a protected natural area due to the area’s fine dry grassland character and flora. For day events with more than 30 participants, you may also consider booking the other shelters in Hørhaven via Book Naturen. Practical information: • If you have booked a shelter, you have automatically booked the associated fire pit. • You must bring your own firewood. • You are allowed to collect dry branches from the forest floor. • There is no access to water at the shelter. • You must take your waste home with you, so remember trash bags. • Toilet facilities at the parking lot by DUI’s summer camp. • Parking is available by DUI’s summer camp. Directions: Start at the entrance to Hørhaven at the parking lot by DUI’s summer camp Peter Sabroes Minde. Walk approximately 75 meters east past the barrier and past the summer camp – here the gravel road branches, with one track running north and another continuing east. Follow the track straight ahead (in an easterly direction). After 60 meters, turn right (west). The shelter is located about 15-20 meters from the path, within the thicket.
