Shelter i Hørhaven i skoven

The shelters belong to Aarhus Kommune and can be booked via Book Naturen. Hørhaven is an open dry grassland with scattered trees and bushes, located close to the coast. Here there are good opportunities for outdoor activities on the open grassy area. From the area, there is a staircase leading down to the beach. Hørhaven is a protected natural area due to the area’s fine dry grassland character and flora. There is a large open space in front of the three shelters, making the place ideal for play and other activities. The shelter site, with an accompanying fire pit and a covered long table with benches, is set back in the old beech forest. For day events with more than 50 participants, you can also advantageously book the other shelters in Hørhaven on Book Naturen. If you need more spaces for overnight stays, you can also book “Shelter i Hørhaven på bakken” with accommodation for max 8 people. Practical information: • If you have booked the shelters, you have automatically booked the associated fire pit. • You must bring your own firewood. • You are allowed to collect dry branches from the forest floor. • You must take your trash home with you, so remember trash bags. • Toilet facilities at the parking lot by DUI’s holiday camp. • Parking is available by DUI’s holiday camp. Directions: Start at the entrance to Hørhaven at the parking lot by DUI’s holiday camp Peter Sabroes Minde. Walk approx. 75 meters east past the barrier and past the holiday camp – here the gravel road branches, as a track runs north and continues east. Follow the track that goes north (left) for approx. 200 meters. The shelter is located in the forest in the northernmost corner of Hørhaven. Nearest address: Ørneredevej 23, 8270 Højbjerg.
