About this spot
The shelter belongs to Aarhus Municipality and can be booked via Book Naturen. The shelter site is located in a clearing in Mollerup Skov. In front of the shelter is the associated fire pit. Next to the shelter there is a nature playground. With its large, open grass areas surrounded by beech and oak, Mollerup Skov invites outdoor experiences. This urban-fringe forest was planted on agricultural land in the 1990s and is close to Mollerup Golf Course. The forest is marked with two running or walking routes and is very popular among exercisers. Scottish Highland cattle graze in the open areas, and smaller play installations are scattered throughout the forest. In the fenced dog forest at Langengevej, you can let your dog run around. From the forest, there is a path connection to Terp and Lisbjerg (via Mollerup golf course) and to Egå Engsø. Practical information: • When you book the shelter, you have automatically booked the associated fire pit. • You must bring your own firewood. • You are allowed to collect dry branches from the forest floor. • There are no water or toilet facilities at the shelter. • A waste bin is available at the shelter. Directions: Parking is available at the entrance to Mollerup Skov at Langengevej 133. From the parking lot, follow the gravel road for about 80 meters past the dog forest. Here, a path goes north (right) between a paddock and a rainwater basin. After about 200 meters, the path meets a forest road – turn left here. After about 100 meters, you will reach a nature playground on your left, where the shelter is located behind the playground. Nearest address: Langengevej 133, 8240 Risskov. Parking is available with access from Skejbyvej and Skejby Nordlandsvej, respectively. GPS: 56°12’22.5”N 10°12’09.6”E.
