Lejrplads Stendal Plantage - Shelter nr. 1

Stendal Plantage is located in hilly terrain in an area where the Jutland ridge flattens out towards the former Alhede. The site is surrounded by forest. See also the hiking brochure for Alhedens Plantager, of which Stendal Plantage is a part: http://www.skovognatur.dk/Udgivelser/Vandretursfoldere/atilaa/Alheden.htm Directions: The site is located at Jagtjunkervej approx. 500 m west of the old forest ranger’s farm Stendalgård. There are parking spaces at the entrances to the forest south (Stendalvej) and east (Papsøvej) of Stendalgård, respectively. The shelter is one of 4 bookable shelters on the site. In the eastern part of the site, there is also a non-bookable shelter. There is water, a packed lunch house with a grill, a campfire site, a composting toilet with a changing area, picnic tables, and horse tethering on the site.
