About this spot
Ørkenarboretet, or Troldhede Plantage, is an experimental plantation with many different tree species to find the most suitable trees for the re-establishment of disused lignite mines. Today, it is an exciting natural area around Kulsøen and the confluence of Vonå and Vorgod å. The shelters are located on the north side of Kulsø with a view over the lake, and “it’s not so bad after all.” The shelter was built with support from A.P. Møller Fonden.
