About this spot
The shelter offers a beautiful view over Kældermose on the south side of Hampen Sø, which is one of the country’s cleanest lakes. The shelter can be booked on this page. It accommodates 4 people. Near the site, there is a fire pit and a forest latrine. There is no drinking water. It is permitted to collect branches from the forest floor for firewood, but trees must not be felled. The shelter site must be left tidy, and all trash must be carried out of the forest. Remember to extinguish the fire before leaving the shelter site! Fishing is not permitted in Hampen Sø for anyone other than the landowners. Swimming is only allowed from the beaches at the west end and northwest corner of the lake. Directions: The site is found by following “Søvej” from the parking lot between Nr. Snede and Viborg at the lake’s west end, south around the lake and past Søhus. Approximately 900 m after the parking lot, the overnight site will be on your right (south of the forest road). The site can also be found from Hærvejsruten through Palsgård Skov. Where the route crosses “Palsgårdsvej”, turn west. Immediately west of Vester Palsgård (the closed forest museum, formerly a forester’s residence), follow the road on your right to the north.
