About this spot
The family shelter is located with a view over the fjord and views of Stige Ø and the Shelter Cluster, where in the immediate vicinity (50 meters) there is a bird-watching tower, which can be used freely. The view of a rich bird life, ranging from White-tailed Eagles, swans, and many waterfowl, is unsurpassed. The entire southern part of Odense Fjord with Tårnø, Vigelsø, Stige Ø is complemented by the view of the nature-restored salt marshes on the old shooting range areas. The fauna in the salt marshes comprises more than 150 plant species. The Shelter Cluster is situated between the forest and the salt marsh with grazing beef cattle. The area, which for 160 years was a shooting range, has been nature-restored with the reintroduction of the rare Natterjack Toad. The Shelter Cluster is suitable for school classes, confirmands, and scouts. In addition, adult groups of up to 25 – 30 people can also book the Shelter Cluster.
