The site is located a short distance into Himmerlandsstien and close to Lerkenfeldt Å. The Ice Age created the landscape in Himmerland as we know it today – a moraine landscape with tundras, bogs and swamps, hills and valleys. Under the ice during the Ice Age, meltwater formed rivers, lakes, fjords, and coves. Lerkenfeld Ådal emerged from the melting ice and became a fjord arm in the middle of the beautiful West Himmerland landscape.
