About this spot

Lyngså Strand has a Badepunkt Flag. Along the coast, you can find many interesting things in the washed-up debris at the water’s edge. Various seashells, starfish, aquatic fungi, such as breadcrumb sponge, and different types of seaweed tell about life in the sea. Seaweed is extremely valuable for birds due to fleas and other insects found in the seaweed. It is food for many of the birds that frequent the shoreline. South of Lyngså beach lies Stensnæs bird sanctuary. It is part of the Natura 2000 area at Ålborg bay. You reach the area via the beach or by driving down the gravel road opposite Engvej. If you instead walk north through the cottage area, you will reach Professorens Plantage with good trails and a shelter for overnight stays.
