About this spot

You are therefore also allowed to ride horses on the beach, all year round, on this stretch. So this is the place to bring your horse for a free gallop. You will also find a shelter site by the beach, with a truly unique location, so close to the sea. To the west, you can see the beautiful salt marshes that were once seabed. Looking south, you will see Cloostårnet, which rises 160 meters above sea level, and to the northeast, you will see Skagen, which is located on a spit that grows northward. The salt marshes around Jerup beach are of great importance, as they are home to unique fauna dependent on the salt influence from the sea. Behind the dunes, for example, you will find countless orchids. Even the rare butterfly Hedepletvinge is found in the area. Among characteristic birds, you often see shelducks during the breeding season, and the rare short-eared owl (Mosehornugle) is seen in the area. In autumn, you can see large curlews.
