About this spot
The area is grazed by cattle, goats, and sheep. Remember to close the mosquito net behind you so that the goats do not take residence in the shelter. The overnight site is open to everyone for both overnight stays and enjoying the campfire. Use and stay are free of charge. The shelter on the site can be booked. Booking the shelter means that you have priority for that specific shelter – not for the entire site, which others are also welcome to use while you are here. If the shelter is not booked, the first-come, first-served principle applies. If you have booked the shelter and have not used it before 8 PM, your priority lapses, and others may use it. Even if you have booked the shelter, it is good shelter etiquette to make room for others in the shelter if possible. There is space for approximately 5-6 adults in the shelter. If you have not used the booked shelter before 8 PM, your priority lapses, and others may use it. You are allowed to pitch a tent on the site. You may stay for up to two consecutive nights at the site. You are welcome to light a fire at existing fire pits. You may gather dead branches for the fire in the surrounding forest and thicket. Remember to extinguish the fire thoroughly after you, so no embers remain – or stay until the fire has completely burned out to prevent wildfires. Remember to check for any fire bans. It is not permitted to play loud music or create other noise that disturbs animals and other people. Take your trash with you when you leave the site. The nearest toilet with water is located at the parking lot, Borrelyngvej 58, 3770 Allinge, approximately 400 meters away. The site is close to Højlyngsstien and is easily accessible for hikers on it. If arriving by car, you can park in the parking lot at Borrelyngvej 58, 3770 Allinge, and then continue on foot along the cycle path for approximately 400 meters. It is not permitted to drive a car to the shelter. The shelter site was established with support from the Danish Environmental Protection Agency’s outdoor recreation fund in 2020.
