Overnight shelter equipped with a rail and lift, allowing transfer from a wheelchair into the shelter. You must bring your own hoist, lifting harness, and lifting sling/strap. Shelter and lift are used at your own risk. The shelter is located approx. 400 m along an asphalted flat stretch from the parking lot at Sandet 91, 3500 Værløse. Wheelchair users have priority, so if you do not need the disability facilities, please use one of the two other shelters at the campsite. Next to the shelter is a high fire pit with a swivel, single-lever operated grill grate, and a table-and-bench set with extra space for wheelchairs at the ends of the table. The area around the shelter and campfire site is graveled. At the campsite, there is a wheelchair-accessible primitive toilet and a water tap. You can book priority for an overnight stay in the shelter. You can stay a maximum of two consecutive nights in the shelter. Only the shelter is booked. Others may simultaneously use the facilities and pitch tents at the site. Booking can be made no earlier than 3 months before the overnight stay. When booking, you must take occupancy of the shelter before 8 PM, otherwise your priority will be forfeited. You can pitch individual supplementary tents next to the shelter. You must bring your own firewood or charcoal. Motor vehicle access to the site is not permitted, and permission for this cannot be applied for. Leave the site as you would wish to find it. Follow the instructions on the information sign at the campsite. The shelter is named after the Danish Armed Forces’ transport aircraft Herkules, which is still in operation. The Herkules aircraft have many different tasks for the Armed Forces, as well as civilian duties.
