About this spot
In addition to the shelter, there is a fire pit with a grill grate and a table for cooking. There is a primitive toilet associated with a nearby campsite, but no waste container. Bring plastic bags for taking your own trash home, toilet paper, and wet wipes. Leave the site as you would wish to find it. It is permitted to gather small dry wood from the forest floor for use in the fire ring. For this, it’s good to bring a small saw, a small splitting axe, and firelighters. Never cut into living trees. Alternatively, bring charcoal. You can set up a few additional tents by the shelter. Otherwise, follow the instructions on the information sign at the campsite. Advance booking: You can book priority for overnight stays in the shelter. You can stay a maximum of two consecutive nights in the shelter. You only book the shelter. Others can simultaneously use the facilities and pitch a tent at the site. Bookings can be made no earlier than 3 months before the overnight stay. When booking, you must occupy the shelter before 8 PM, otherwise your priority will be forfeited. Access: Parking lot outside the entrance at Frieslandsvej. Motor vehicle access to the site is not permitted, and no permission can be sought for this. It is part of the experience to hike there. Optionally use a trolley or similar for your luggage. The shelter was built with support from the A.P. Møller Fonden.
