Præstens Have, Ingstrup

The area, which is approximately 20,000 m², has been taken over by a group of enthusiasts from Ingstrup town, who in 2023 established an association named “Præstens Have”. Preserving this large, scenic area at the former Ingstrup Rectory is of crucial importance to meet the strongly increasing need to accommodate biodiversity and at the same time preserve this unique free space for all living beings – humans, plants, and animals, both now and for future generations. “Præstens Have” provides us with precisely this opportunity. It is a green oasis with trees that are several hundred years old and worthy of preservation. A natural lake with an outlet towards a marshland – a §3 area and a burial mound connected by a path system. Here is a rare place where nature is allowed to unfold at its own pace and rhythm. It is a place we want/need to cherish extra much. The combination of these elements stimulates our natural curiosity and opens up opportunities for exploration, play, and not least, inner peace and well-being. Our goal is to preserve and develop “Præstens Have” as a refuge for biodiversity and a free space for all who use the area. We wish to create good, recreational, and educational settings for both the local population, the many students of Ingstrup Trivselsskole, and the many visitors. Trivselsskolen’s subject “nature and technology” already uses the area but lacks a place for learning and immersion. With these voluntary efforts concerning nature communication, the focus is placed on the importance of sustainable development, where we consciously want to inspire and engage everyone in taking responsibility for our environment.
