About this spot
Large disability-friendly shelter with an integrated campfire house, located at the edge of the forest with views of the forest and large grassy areas. In the campfire house, there is a good fireplace with a grill and benches along the walls. The benches are designed to allow wheelchair access. The sleeping area of the shelter is equipped with 2 rails in the ceiling to enable people with mobility impairments to access the sleeping spots. You must bring your own sling for the rail system. The shelter floor is also fitted with an extra plate at the opening for transfer from a wheelchair to the shelter floor. Additionally, brackets are installed inside the shelter building, allowing for hammocks to be set up. The sleeping spots are for 10-12 people. Access is from Naturstyrelsen’s large parking lot just after Avnstrupcentret. The path to the shelters is at least 1 meter wide and firm. There is a disabled toilet at the parking lot, as well as access to water. However, water and toilet access are only available in the summer. Tents are not allowed on the site. The shelters were built in collaboration with Red Barnet. The site can be booked for a maximum of 2 nights, and can only be reserved 3 months in advance.
