The Danish Nature Agency has designated a smaller part of its areas as specially protected areas, called quiet zones. This forest is designated as a quiet zone, and the Danish Nature Agency only exceptionally grants permission for organized activities. The primary purpose is to ensure “the deep, quiet calm of the forest” for the benefit of the forest’s animals and visitors. In Ganløse Eged, you can get permission for dog sledding between 8 AM and 9 PM on weekdays and in the mornings on weekends. The forest is also part of the Danish Nature Agency’s experiment with free camping. Read more via the links further down.
