Stokkebjerg Skov

In Stokkebjerg Skov, wild camping is allowed throughout the forest within the rules for wild camping. Stokkebjerg Skov is located right where “the beech mirrors its top in the blue wave”. Despite its mere 76 hectares, the forest contains many attractions – from beech forest to castle ruins and from cherry trees to springs. The forest is situated in a hilly moraine landscape from the last ice age – a landscape that offers countless springs and interesting ash bogs. Stokkebjerg Skov is most known, however, for Lommestenen or Lumbs Sten. Several explanations are associated with the stone’s location. The best one suggests that the stone was thrown by a giant from Hundested with the aim of hitting the tower of Egebjerg Kirke. However, the stone hit a tree and fell into the fjord – precisely where it lies n
